International Campaigns for the Safety of Women
- Stop Violence Against Women is a Amnesty International global campaign to counter violence against women. The campaign addresses the notion that domestic and sexual violence in fact, is a serious breach of human rights. The long-term focus and objective of this initiative end impunity of violators of women's human rights by advocating governments prosecute criminals and change laws to protect women. The campaign launched with the 2004 celebration of International Women's Day.
- UNWOMEN is a branch of the United Nations Development Group working as an entity working entirely for gender equality and the empowerment of women around the world. The main objective of UNWOMEN is to support inter-governmental bodies to formulate and influence policies, global standards, and norms towards fuller gender equality. UNWOMEN provides technical and financial support to Member States to effectively manage policy goals with an emphasis on partnerships with civil society. Lastly, the UNWOMEN body is responsible for actively holding the UN system accountable for its declared commitments to gender equality through regular monitoring of system-wide progress.
- I Holla Back: is a global grassroots combatting street harassment through the opening of the first online platform to allow victims of street harrasment to tell their story and to also give them the unique opportunity of posting images and video of the offender. What began as a NYC local campaign has powered to over 50 cities and 20 countries nationally. IHollaBack gives women the opportunity of empowerment to fight street harassment and provides irrefutable truth about the need for policy makers to address the serious issue of street harassment.
